Getting started with the single-handed toss.
At this point, you should have something to use for practicing this trick; if you don't, you can check out information on getting started with pizza acrobatics.
- The grip: Start by placing your palm facing upwards with the hand that feels more comfortable to you. Usually, this will be your dominant hand.
- Dough placement: The dough will be placed in your palm, where your thumb is closer to the edge of the dough.
- The throw: When you're ready, push your hand upwards. When your hand is close to the highest point, rotate your hand inwards towards you and upwards. If it's your right hand it will be counterclockwise. If it's your left hand it will be clockwise.
- If your throw works correctly the dough should spin evenly and flat in the air.

Troubleshooting:
- If you're having trouble, try slowing down your throw, or speeding it up. You should be able to find a speed that works for you.
- Try different hand placements with the dough, you might find something that works best for your style.
